Game Card Holder

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3/4yd printed fabric (for one cardholder)
  • 1/2yd solid fabric (for one cardholder)
  • Scissors
  • Thread
  • Velcro®
  • Heavy cardboard
  • Sewing machine
  • Pencil or fabric pencil
  • Craft knife

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut two 11"x 23" panels from printed fabric.
  2. Cut two 11"x 14" panels from solid fabric. Stitch all sides together, wrong side to wrong side. Lay panel flat. Fold bottom edge up 2". Fold up again, 2". Pin fold to hold in place. Flip panel. Fold top edge down 2". Fold down again, 4". Fold up 2".
  3. Stitch folded panel to right side of one 11"x 23" panel as marked in diagram.

  5. Stitch large panels together, right side to right side, along bottom and sides. Flip fabric.
  6. Fold unfinished top edge over 1". Pin 9" strip of Velcro to folded edge. Stitch on velcro, so raw fabric edge is hidden. Stitch a seam below Velcro.
  7. Cut two 9"x 6 1/2" panels from cardboard. Cut one 5"x6.5" panel from cardboard. Insert one of the larger panels into the fabric. Position all the way at the top until it is stopped by the Velcro seam. Stitch a seam just below the cardboard panel to hold it in place. Insert the smaller panel and stitch a seam below. Repeat with the last panel. Fold over bottom edge 1" and stitch remaining Velcro over raw edge.
