  • Deep Teal Yarn #43005: 1 ball or 205 yds
    Susan Bates® Supplies:
  • Silvalume Crochet Hook: Size U.S. J/10 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
  • Yarn Needle
  • Split-Lock Stitch Count Marker

SIZE:
Approximately 8 3/4"x 33 1/4" (excluding fringe)

GAUGE:
10 sc & 11 rows = 4"

DIRECTIONS:

NOTES:

Caddy is worked with tighter gauge than standard gauge for stability.
Caddy is worked flat in one piece & folded & seamed to form pocket.
Pocket is meant to hang over outer arm of sofa while arm wrap end folds over inner sofa arm & tucks down under sofa cushion to hold in place.
Beg working from lightest end of yarn at arm wrap.

Arm Wrap:
Ch 21.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 20 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep 2nd row until work from beg measures 33", ending on a WS row. Turn.
Next row: (RS). Ch 1. Working in back loops only,1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
PM at end of last row.

Cont with pocket as follows:
Pocket:
Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until work from marker measures 8".
Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Edging & Joining Pocket:
With WS facing, fold pocket along marked row to form 8" deep pocket.
Note: WS of Pocket will face RS of arm wrap.
With RS facing, join yarn with sl st to bottom right corner st of caddy (at folded row).
Ch 1. Work sc evenly around 3 sides of caddy, having 3 sc in each of top 2 corners, & working through both thicknesses along side edges of pocket to join.
Do not fasten off.

Turn to work across folded bottom edge & cont with fringe trim (using darker shade of yarn) as follows:
Fringe Trim:
1st row: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc around post of last sc of edging. 1 sc in each of 20 rem loops of marked row. 1 sc around post of first sc of edging. Turn. 22 sc.
2nd row: Ch 6 (counts as tr and ch 2). Skip first 3 sc. Sl st in next sc. *Ch 6. Skip next 2 sc. Sl st in next sc. Rep from * to last 3 sc. Ch 2. Skip next 2 sc. 1 tr in last sc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 6. Sl st in each ch-6 sp to end of row. Turn.
4th row: Ch 6. Sl st in each ch-6 sp to end of row. Ch 6. Sl st in top of tr 2 rows below (2nd row) Fasten off.

Fringe:
Cut strands of yarn 12" long.
Taking 3 strands tog, fold in half & knot into fringe in every ch-6 sp from last row.
Trim fringe evenly.
