Yarn And Felt Stockings

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Patons® Alpaca Blend Yarn, Slate
• Patons® Alpaca Blend Yarn, Butternut
• Patons® Alpaca Blend Yarn, Oats
• Red felt, 12" x 18"
• Sandstone felt 12"x 18"
• White felt 12"x 18"
• Minty felt 9"x 12"
• Olive felt 9"x 12"
• Pom pom trim in mint and olive green
• Tassel trim in pink and grey
• Pattern template
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

DIRECTIONS:

White Stocking:

1. Using the pattern template, cut out two stocking shapes from the white felt.
2. Cut out one piece felt base for weaving from the sandstone felt.
3. Cut 7 pieces of felt strips for weaving from sandstone felt.
4. Weave the felt strips through the felt base piece.
5. Hot glue the woven felt onto the top stocking piece.
6. With the butternut yarn, sew the top and bottom sticking pieces together with a blanket stitch, leaving the top open (blanket stitch along the top of the top stocking piece only).
7. Hot glue a strip of pink tassel trim along the top and bottom of the woven felt.
8. Hot glue a strip of mint pom pom trim above the pink tassel trim.
9. Cut a piece of white felt with the stocking loop template. Fold the strip in half and hot glue the two cut ends to make a loop. Hot glue the loop to the top of the stocking for hanging.

Sandstone Stocking:

1. Using the pattern template, cut out two stocking shapes from the sandstone felt.
2. Cut out one piece felt base for stitching from the olive felt.
3. Use the butternut yarn to create the stitching pattern shown on the template.
4. Hot glue the stitched piece onto the top stocking piece.
5. With the slate yarn, sew the top and bottom sticking pieces together with a blanket stitch, leaving the top open (blanket stitch along the top of the top stocking piece only).
6. Hot glue a strip of pink tassel trim along the top and bottom of the stitched felt.
7. Hot glue a strip of grey tassel trim above the pink tassel trim.
8. Cut a piece of sandstone felt with the stocking loop template. Fold the strip in half and hot glue the two cut ends to make a loop. Hot glue the loop to the top of the stocking for hanging.

Red Stocking:

1. Using the pattern template, cut out two stocking shapes from the red felt.
2. With the oats yarn, sew the top and bottom sticking pieces together with a blanket stitch, leaving the top open (blanket stitch along the top of the top stocking piece only).
3. Cut seven pieces of felt fringe from the minty felt.
4. Hot glue the fringe, overlapping, to the top stocking piece.
5. Hot glue a strip of green pom pom trim along the top of the mint felt fringe.
6. Hot glue a strip of mint pom pom trim above the green trim.
7. Hot glue a strip of green pom pom trim above the mint trim.
8. Cut a piece of sandstone felt with the stocking loop template. Fold the strip in half and hot glue the two cut ends to make a loop. Hot glue the loop to the top of the stocking for hanging.
