Devastating false advertisingI don't usually buy online, but I did this time and I regret it. I bought the "American" color for some fun 4th of July crochet projects, but the colors were nothing like the pictures, they were very dull. The size was also far smaller than advertised. The overall quality of the yarn seems okay, but it doesn't make up for the disappointment I felt when opening the package. Attached I have a picture of the real color of the yarn and the yarn compared to an actual medium weight yarn.

Disappointing YarnI crochet blankets for children in local foster care, and was excited when I found this yarn on clearance for 73 cents a skein. I prefer cotton to acrylic because it's natural, plus I liked many of the colors.
When I got home and started crocheting, I discovered that the yarn was a combination of string and yarn, and it easily split while crocheting. It was really unfriendly to work with but thought I would complete a blanket to make my final determination since I had purchased a bunch.
Well, I finished the blanket and washed it and was horrified to see all the pilling on a cotton blanket that I had just spent about 20 hours crocheting.
This morning I returned about 30 skeins to Joann's.
Save your time and frustration and buy a better quality yarn,

DK weight, not worstedThis is a fine cheap cotton yarn. It feels a bit softer than Sugar n' Cream yarn, which I'm assuming is because of the polyester.
I had two issues but one of them was very small. I was excited to find the "tomato soup" color because I've been looking for a worsted weight bright red cotton yarn for a specific project.
The smaller issue was that the color was called cranberry on the label and was a bit of a cooler red in person. Not a huge issue, but kind of confusing.
The real issue was that this is NOT a worsted weight yarn. This is DK, and a light one at that. I held it up to KxC essential cotton, which is another Joann brand cotton yarn sold as a DK/3 weight, and the KxC was thicker than this yarn. I had to return it because it wasn't going to work for the project I had in mind.
