SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Three ceramic wood-look containers
  • 3-4 bricks floral foam
  • Floral tape
  • Waterproof floral tape
  • Wire cutters
  • Floral foam knife
  • 2 hybrid Dahlia bouquets
  • 2 AUT Thistle leaves bush, burgundy
  • 1 AUT Ranunculus stem, cream
  • 8 hybrid Herb pick, assorted
  • 4 hybrid Herb pick, assorted
  • 1 AUT Rose bush, cream
  • 1 AUT Thistle bush, yellow
  • 2 AUT Thistle bush, natural

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place a foam brick on top of the shorter ceramic container. Press down on the foam to create an indent into the foam. Turn the foam over and use the indent as a guide to cut out the foam to size. Use the scraps from the foam brick to fill in the bottom of the container. Insert the cut foam on top. Foam should fit tightly in the container.
  2. Insert the floral foam into the taller containers. Turn the foam vertically and simply insert into the container. This is not a tight fit, so the waterproof tape is necessary to hold the foam in place. Place a strand of tape across the top of the foam and adhere it to the sides of the container to keep the foam secure.
  3. Decide which floral stems and herb picks will go into each container. Leave the smaller floral and greens for the shorter ceramic container. Use the larger floral for the taller containers. Separate into piles on your work station.
  4. Separate the Dahlia bouquets into individual stems. Begin inserting the larger flowers into the taller containers. Use all the floral and greenery form those bouquets. Some of the greens and berries can be separated and used as individual stems throughout the arrangement. Simply remove or cut apart the tape in order to peel the two stems away from each other.
  5. Add the cream Ranunculus flower to each tall container. Separate the Thistle flowers into clusters and add these to the arrangement. Be sure to add the Thistle clusters all throughout the arrangements. Use the taller, natural colored Thistle to give the arrangements height.
  6. Separate the cream Rose bush stems into clusters. Insert the clusters into the arrangements, leaving most of them for the shorter ceramic container. Add the herb picks throughout the arrangements to fill in and cover the floral foam. The herb picks can also be separated, and the stems inserted individually. Cover the foam with any left-over greenery from the floral.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • If the floral stems are too short to add to the arrangement, use leftover stems or pieces from other floral to add length. Use the floral tape to attach the two stem pieces to become one longer stem.
