Tape Resist Greeting Card

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • White Cardstock
  • Masking Tape
  • Markers
  • Gel Pens
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut cardstock in half & fold to form the card.
  2. Cut a piece of masking tape slightly wider than the card.
  3. Blot masking tape onto a piece of clothing to reduce stickiness to keep tape from tearing paper when removed.
  4. Apply tape to the center of the card.
  5. Color a design over the front of the card.
  6. Draw right over the tape, filling as much space as possible.
  7. Use a gel pen to add details & definition to the marker drawing.
  8. Carefully remove tape & add a greeting to the blank space on the card.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Experiment with creating different shapes on the card surface by cutting shapes from the tape instead of using a solid piece.
