SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Shipping boxes
  • Cardstock and papers in various colors and patterns
  • Washi tape
  • Yarn and trim
  • Letter stickers or Cricut® vinyl rolls
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Metal straight edge ruler
  • Cutting surface
  • Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue
  • Scissors
  • Cricut® machine (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Glue the base paper inside on the bottom using the Tombow glue. For the sides, one piece of 12"x 12" paper won't cover from the base inside up to the top edge of the inside of the box, so you'll have to choose how you want to finish the sides. The inside bottom edges can be covered with yarn or trim.

  2. To create a paper border around the bottom, use your X-Acto knife on the backside of the paper to make a score line 1" in on the side. Fold this paper on the score line to make a clean fold. Glue this in the box with the fold in the seam to help make a frame look on the bottom inside of the box. Do this for all 4 sides. Where the paper ends, which is about 3" from the top, cover that edge with the Washi tape or trim. Leave the rest of the natural craft paper of the box exposed.

  3. Cut your verbiage and images from the white cardstock and glue onto the red flaps.

  4. Cut paper details by hand or use the Cricut machine. Glue shapes to the paper bottom using the Tombow glue.

  5. Use a hot glue gun to apply trim and yarn details.

  6. Cut letters from the Cricut Vinyl using a Cricut Machine or use letter stickers to add text to the box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Confused Looking a the picture, collecting the supplies and trying to follow the directions, left me confused. I have no idea how to put it all together. Unlike the other reviewer, I can cut the stockings and letter, but how do I line the box with the paper.
