Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my project! I've never worked with this fabric- and it was wonderful! Perfect for a cross back apron I made for a dear friend that is making sourdough loaves. Can't wait to make another!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not flimsy, not completely opaque I bought this in person about a week ago, and the color is maybe a touch darker in person but fairly true to the picture! It is very soft, washes nicely in cold water (I line dried it, so not sure how it holds up in the dryer). It is very soft and not too heavy, but is not flimsy. It is not completely opaque, but for my purposes this is alright because I need to line it anyways (I anticipate most cottons are not completely opaque).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color off I bought the stormy color. It isn't remotely like what is pictured. It is a light seafoam or teal. If you are looking for the really lovely dark blue gray that is pictured you will be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good I’m a beginner, so it’s difficult to treat this fabric. But, I think my projects succeeded! I made dotes for my daughters and long shirt for my father and short sleeves shirt for my mother. Drape of skirt is pretty. Looks good and kind.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ordered four yards- got three and one I bought four yards for a midi skirt and went to wash it before sewing- it's cut into two pieces. I can't use one yard with my measurements. Wish they would have just said that they didn't have four continuous yards instead of sending me pieces I can't use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Advice for Sewing with JoAnn Bubble Gauze This review is for those of you like me, who are new to this fabric, and wondering how it will handle. I bought it in three colors, and I can tell you there was no shrinkage to either the 54-inch width or the length when I prewashed them in cold water on gentle cycle and then air dried them - which is how I plan to wash my garments. I didn't iron it at any stage, wanting to keep the texture and dimensions as they were. The fabric didn't ravel after cutting or during sewing, but looked like it would in the wash. To prevent that, I decided to use my sewing machine's overcast stitch and overcast foot to bind all the raw edges. I also encased them all inside French seams or hems as I constructed my blouse. A walking foot worked well when straight stitching to keep the layers aligned, but didn't seem absolutely necessary. I opted for finger-pressing seams instead of ironing them. With these methods, this bubble gauze (double gauze) worked great for making a peasant blouse. I'd recommend it for other loose, airy garment designs, too. Last note: cat hair has an affinity for this fabric, so either keep a lint roller handy, or buy it in a color that matches your cat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little disappointed with the quality of the weave A couple of years ago, I made a summer nightgown using double gauze fabric which I had purchased in Europe. It was so comfortable I decided to made another one, which is how I came to purchase this one from Joann’s. There is nothing wrong with the color, but I find the quality not as good as what I have previously worked with, so I am a little disappointed. The one from Europe seems more tightly woven. It was also more expensive. So, to sum things up, I would be prepared to pay more for better quality, and maybe have a wider choice of print, not just solids?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color Is Not As Shown Online The quality of the fabric is excellent, but I'm very disappointed that the Birch color is actually more of a natural cream color than what is shown online.
