Worst Machine I've Ever Used
I'm a very experienced sewist who's used many different sewing machines over the last fifteen years or so, and this one is by far the worst one I've had the displeasure of using. I have no idea why Singer called this their "heavy duty" model, because it feels extremely cheap and it struggles to get through anything thicker than quilting cotton. Fabric goes through the feed dogs at a significant angle, making it almost impossible to sew in a straight line. On top of that, the presser foot barely presses down on the fabric and doesn't hold it in place at all, leaving it to slide around while the feed dogs pull it off center. The pedal does not control the speed well at all, and it goes straight from not moving to sewing very fast, which compounds the challenge of the feed dog angle and presser foot issues. I know there are plenty of other functional problems I've run into as well, but those are the main ones currently plaguing me. I've done lots of highly polished sewing projects on other machines, but genuinely cannot get a decent looking seam out of this one, and the top stitching on my last project off this machine was genuinely embarrassing. It was purchased by my job--if it was my personal machine, I'd either return it or straight up throw it out, because it's not worth the frustration of trying to use. Don't waste your money on this cheap feeling, borderline unusable piece of junk.

Buy at Costco!
My review is of buying from Joann's. If you're going to get one, Costco sells it. Same price and you get a lot more accessories. Also, if you do need to return it, Joann's charges a $25 restocking fee, Costco does not! Except for fabric, Joann's is a no go for me.

Love love love
I've had this machine for 2 years now and have to say, its worth every penny. I bought it after my Kenmore died after 30 years. Really pleased with ease of use - one drawback though, no manual. That's frustrating. Plus, I can't tell if the needle is off center but hey, its a few just a few mm. Still, even with those 2 flaws, I fly through sewing my clothes for work. I just need to expand my experience with different presser feet.

New hobby 2024!!!
I bought this kind of out of the blue and I’m beginning to really like sewing. The machine works great, ordering was easy and so was picking it up. Just bought everything i needed online 👌🏻

Do not buy this unless you really enjoy rethreding the needle
Worst machine I've ever used. Cannot sew a straight line without losing the thread or bunching. No matter the settings, fabric, thread, speed, anything else, it cannot sew a straight line. You'd be better off buying a $20 machine from the thrift store or Facebook marketplace. Do not buy.

Good overall machine
Pretty good overall machine, does a decent job with heavier fabrics like denim, canvas, twill etc. if you know what youre doing. zig zag stitch and buttonhole is very convenient
