  • 5/32" cable cord, 27"
  • Ruler

  • Eye mask template (1/2" seam allowance included)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut 2 of eye mask template out of main fabric, 1 out of batting.
  2. Cut 28" of 1 1/2" wide bias out of contrast fabric, piecing will be required to create one strip. Press strip in half wrong, long ends together to create a crease. Insert cord inside crease and baste close to cording with a zipper foot.
  3. Baste batting to wrong side of one main fabric.
  4. Apply piping around edge of right-side of eye mask with batting attached using a zipper foot, stopping 2" before start of piping. Cut piping 4" longer than what would be used to close the gap.
  5. Open longer end of piping 4". Trim filler to length needed to close gap in piping. Fold longer length in half and lay over shorter length of unfinished piping, to enclose. Finish sewing binding to eye mask edge.
  6. Cut 13"x 1 1/2" rectangle out of contrast fabric. Sew long edges, right-sides together, turn and press. Insert elastic into tube and baste to both open ends.
  7. Sew strap to eye mask attached to batting, right sides together, centering strap end on side notches. Sew eye mask without batting to this piece right-sides together, using a zipper foot to get close to piping. Leave 2" hole for turning.
  8. Turn piece right-side out and press well. Close turning hole with a hand slip-stitch.
