Disappointed
The pattern is cute but the yarn is terrible for amigurumi. The yarn is stranded and splitty. After trying several different types of crochet hooks I gave up trying to make this toy with this yarn. Red Heart brand items are known for value at a price people can afford but this yarn disappoints.

Off putting for beginners
The yarn splits too badly it's not possible to use. The crochet hook is too small for the yarn. I've spent 4 hours as a beginner with no experience. After hours of videos and tutorials, I have to give up. Couldn't make the first stitch after all those hours. It's incredibly disheartening and frustrating, actual tears because it's literally impossible to use but I couldn't shake the anger that I must just be bad and incapable. I hope I can try again to learn crochet one day. Because I chose one of these kits to start learning, I will probably never attempt to learn crochet again, unfortunantly.

Horrible kit
I bought this a week ago and the kit is horrible, like so many others have said the yarn splits so bad I could barely even continue, save your money and use YouTube videos and buy your own supplies this isn’t worth it

Inferior yarn
I not like the yarn that comes with Colin the Chick as it is not friendly to amigurumi beginners. The threads in the yarn keep separating making it hard to crochet an easy stitch without having to look at the yarn 24/7. I like to get in a rhythm while crocheting and this thread made that difficult.

Cute but yarn splits
Horrible! I love amigurumi and was excited to get this kit with everything needed to make a cute creature. But the yarn splits horribly!!!! I am so frustrated I will probably give up and purchase better yard to complete this project.

Crocheted frog kit
Instructions were clear and the project was fun and done with my 8 year old granddaughter. The supplies were not generous in the yarn department. There was not enough of the main color to follow the directions to make the full length of the ‘arms’, which I chose to make last. There was ‘just enough’ of the other supplies.
