My favorite colored pencilsThese are fantastic, every artist’s dream. The colors are so vibrant and vivid and they blend like a dream. The colors available are a great balance for a packaged product. They aren’t hard and waxy, they’re soft but without being fragile. And let me tell you they LAST. I’ve had my same pack for three years now. I highly recommend. My fave’s!!

If you’re looking for great colors, look no further!Tons of variety, possibilities were endless! And liked the packaging, it has a spot for everything. The durability is beyond words, they’ve lasted so long and my daughter uses them for everything. The pigmentation of the colors is so amazing, bright and bold.

GoodCustomers like the quality, appearance, color and softness of the coloring pencils. They mention that they are far more durable than the Premiers, blends nicely and that the tips are soft enough that it doesn't look forced or unnatural. They also like the blendability, value, and performance. That said, opinions are mixed on sharpening.

great as a starter pencil for someone just learning how to use colored pencils. However, if you want to continue drawing as a hobby, invest in the Prismacolor Premier pencils.I recently had the chance to take an 8-week colored pencil drawing class, so to get into the process, I picked up a set of new pencils to motivate me. I did not realize the world of colored pencils was so complex! First thing I did was a swatch comparison between the various brands of colored pencils that I had collected over the years from other projects – and my new Prismacolor Scholar pencils. The goal: ascertain the differences between the brands and quality levels within each brand. Overall, the Prismacolor Scholar pencils are definitely the easiest to blend - using a blender OR solvent. However, blendability comes at a price - these pencils are very soft, and I have to sharpen them every 5min or so. Also, they are fragile - dropping them (if they roll off the table accidentally) seems to cause the “lead” to crack inside the pencil, so that when I sharpen a dropped pencil - I have to do it 2-3 times to get a useable point. I enjoyed using these in my class, but will definitely not repurchase- I’ll spend te extra money and buy the “professional” pencils.

Just okayThey’re not all that it cracks up to be, i find the original prismacolor to be as durable ergonomic and blendable as these and the pigmentation is lacking which might be a plus for some but in my opinion i need more vibrant colors to shade and mess around with.
