SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Perler Beads, multiple colors
- Perler Bead peg board kit
- Tweezers
- Iron
- Ribbon
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
SnowflakeYou will need: light blue beads and star peg board
Start with one bead in the middle, using a line of light blue beads, connect middle to one inner point; repeat for the other points.
Start to add beads in desired pattern, remember snowflakes are all different!
Optional: add navy beads to the background for contrast.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Heart
You will need: beads in 3 colors and heart peg board
Starting in the middle add one line of desired color.
Add one more line of that color to top and bottom of center line.
Continue to bottom alternating colors every 3 rows.
Repeat at the top.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Key
You will need: yellow beads, beads in 1-2 other colors and square peg board
Follow pattern provided for key with yellow beads.
Add outline in 2nd color of beads.
Proceed to finishing directions or follow next steps.
Use a third color to create a rectangle around key.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Button
You will need: beads in 2 colors and round peg board
Start by covering peg board with base color, leaving the outer most row out.
Use second color to outline button.
Optional: add outline color to center holes to create contrast.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Hexagon
You will need: beads in 4 colors and hexagon peg board
Start with one row of 1st color.
Next row with 2nd color.
Next row with 3rd color.
Next row with 4th color.
Repeat, creating thin stripes all the one down the peg board.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Round
You will need beads in 3-6 colors and round peg board
Start by covering peg board with base color.
Pull one bead out in a few random spots and replace with the other colors of beads.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Letters
Choose letter and two colors of Perler beads.
With tweezers, place a double line letter with inner color of choice.
Outline with second color of choice.
If desired, add a third color to create the background of the shape used.
Proceed to finishing directions.
Finishing
To create hole for loop, there are two options:
Take out one bead in upper left corner.
Create arch with square peg board and 7 beads. Place 2 beads skip one and place 2 more beads. On row above, add 3 beads connecting the row below.
Iron the ornament according to directions.
Cut 6" piece of ribbon, string through opening and tie in a knot.
JOANN HACKS:
- To create letter either create letter backward or create it the correct way and flip. You will need two of the same shape peg board, preferably at least one clear peg board. Create letter then put clear board on top of letter. Flip and iron according to directions.
