FRAMED FABRIC

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fabric large enough to be used in frame with 1" extra allowance
  • Fabric Frame with self-adhesive/peel and stick board in desired size
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Remove board from fabric frame.
  2. Select and cut fabric to allow for 1" extra on all sides, making sure that design is within the view of the frame.
  3. Remove protective covering from self-adhesive board.
  4. Place fabric on the sticky side of the board making sure to smooth out the surface of the fabric, cut excess fabric from sides of board so that it fits into the frame.
  5. Reinsert the fabric covered board back into the frame.

JOANN HACKS:

  • If you have chosen a fabric with a design, make sure it is straight on the board before smoothing out the surface.

BABY QUILTS:

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Two pieces of flannel fabric 30" x 35" for each quilt
  • Batting same size as quilt
  • Coordinating flannel fabric for binding
  • Sewing Supplies
  • Sewing Machine

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut two pieces of coordinating flannel to use for front and back of baby quilt.
  2. Cut batting the same size as the front and back pieces.
  3. Layer front, batting and back pieces together with right sides facing out (sandwich the batting between the front and back fabric).
  4. Cut coordinating flannel fabric 2 1/2" wide to create binding.
  5. Sew together short ends of binding fabric to make one long piece to bind edge of quilt.
  6. Sew right side of binding to right side of front of quilt all around the edge, catching all three layers.
  7. Fold binding over to back and finish by hand stitching or machine stitching.
  8. Quilt as desired.
