SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Cricut® machine or large star paper punch
  • Cricut green mat
  • Assorted glitter cardstock: rose gold, shimmer white, silver, matte rose gold
  • Quick grip glue
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Tape

DIRECTIONS:
  1. In Design Space, create stars under the "shapes" palette in sizes from 3" to 8". Cut them out on your Cricut machine.
  2. Create several 5" tall cutouts that say "2020" on your Cricut machine and cut them out.
  3. Using your sewing machine, sew a line at the top of the stars so that they hang down. Go down about 1/8" from the top point.
  4. As you sew the star garland, continue to pull the star once it passes through the sewing machine to allow slack thread in between the stars so that they are not too close together.
  5. For the 3D stars, fold two of them and glue them together on the folded seam. Let them dry. Them sew them at the top point in a garland strand.
  6. For the 2020 garland, place a star in between the groups of 2020 to make it so the garland doesn’t read like one long strand of numbers.
  7. Sew the numbers on the top edge similar to the strands of stars.
  8. For the confetti cone, make a paper disk from cardstock. The height of your cone will be determined by the radius of your circle.
  9. Draw a triangle wedge from the center of the circle to the edge.
  10. Cut the triangle wedge out of the circle.
  11. Bring the cut sides of your disc together.
  12. Tape the inside of the cone closed.
