DIRECTIONS:
Finished Size: 48 by 60in
  1. Cut out 7" squares in the amounts listed below:
  2. Fabric A - 20 squares
    Fabric B - 20 Squares
    Fabric C - 20 squares
    Fabric D - 6 squares
    Fabric E - 6 squares
    Fabric F - 4 squares
    Fabric G - 4 squares

  3.
  4. Follow the attached pattern to help configure the squares. You will need the following combinations to begin. Place right sides together:
  5. Fabric A & Fabric C - 10
    Fabric A & Fabric D - 6
    Fabric A & Fabric F - 4
    Fabric B & Fabric C - 10
    Fabric B & Fabric E - 6
    Fabric B & Fabric G - 4

  6.
  7. Use a ruler to draw a straight line from corner to corner of each square.
  8. Sew 2 lines a scant 1/4" along each side of the line.
  9. Cut along the line to separate the pieces. You will now have 2 squares to use in your pattern. Do this for each combination listed above. Press when finished.
  10. Using 1/4" seam allowance, stitch all of your pieced squares together following the attached pattern. Press.
  11. Sandwich your backing fabric, batting and top piece together. Pin approximately every 12" to keep all layers together.
  12. Use your free motion quilting attachment to stitch over the entire quilt.
  13. Cut 240" of 2.5" wide binding out of your fabric (will need to be pieced). Stitch binding around the edge of the quilt, right sides together, using 1/4" seam allowance, mitering corners as you go. Fold binding around to the back of the quilt and fold under raw edge 1/2" to finish edge.
  14. Hand stitch unsewn edge to back of quilt.

JOANN HACKS:
  • As you sew the triangles together and then eventually squares, remember to square off the pieces (using a cutting board, rotary cutter and ruler). This makes it much easier to keep your squares looking even and crisp.
