SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Crayola modeling clay
- Jump rings
- Polyform Sculpey acrylic clay roller
- Studio By Sculpey Clay Tool Variety, set of 3
- Premo graduated cutter set, 6pc circle
- Jewelry findings
- Needle-nose pliers
DIRECTIONS:
- Roll several different colors of modeling clay into thin rods. Rods can be different thicknesses across the colors but should be about the same length.
- Arrange the rods together and roll to combine.
- Roll, fold, twist, and/or spiral the clay until it reaches the desired marble effect.
- Use the acrylic clay ruler to roll out marbled clay onto the clay mat. The thickness of the clay should be between 1/8" and 1/4".
- Use circle cutters and clay tools to cut out shapes as desired. Add embellishments by cutting out heart shapes, pressing fingerprints into the clay to create a heart shape, and molding heart shapes and adding to the surface of the earring shapes.
- Layout pieces to determine final placement. Use needle tool to create holes for jump rings to connect pieces as needed.
- Allow clay to air dry for about 72 hours.
- Attach jump rings and jewelry findings to complete the earrings.

do not use modeling clay!
This project should never use modeling clay. It never dries out. In fact, it is greasy and will become soft in warm weather. You should use Sculpey or Fima or even Model Magic, but never use modeling clay! You would need to follow the heating directions on the Sculpey or Fima, I am a retired art teacher so I know what I am talking about. I can;t believe Joann didn't catch this mistake!
