She was two when she received this puzzle and couldn't quite understand how the pieces fit together, but soon mastered after we sat for hours putting this puzzle together! Very durable - we've had it for two years and my son has chewed on the pieces and they have not fallen apart. We only buy Melissa and Doug puzzles - they are the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for someone with special needs My grandson is 19 and autistic. This puzzle, although somewhat childish, is his number one puzzle. It has its own container so he can put it together anywhere. The horses are all different so he doesn't get confused as to which piece goes to which horse. He puts it together several times a day and it has not broken or chipped and the picture has not worn off. Sometimes, we count the horses, or talk about the number of squirrels, birds, or butterflies. Would love to find more like it, maybe more realistic pictures, trains, cars, other animal scenes.
