Approx 11" [28 cm] square.
GAUGE
18 sts and 25 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.
DIRECTIONS
Cast on 50 stitches (sts).
Knit 5 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is Wrong Side (WS).
1st row: (Right Side - RS). Knit.
2nd row: Knit 3 (K3). Purl across to last 3 sts. K3.
3rd row: K5. *Purl 4 (P4). K2. Repeat (Rep) from * to last 3 sts. K3.
4th row: K3. P2. *K4. P2. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K3.
5th and 6th rows: As 3rd and 4th rows.
7th row: Knit.
8th row: As 2nd row.
9th row: K3. P3. *K2. P4. Rep from * to last 8 sts. K2. P3. K3.
10th row: K6. *P2. K4. Rep from * to last 8 sts. P2. K6.
11th and 12th rows: As 9th and 10th rows
These 12 rows form Basketweave Pattern (Pat).
Continue (Cont) in pat until work from beginning (beg) measures approx 10½" [26.5 cm], ending on a 2nd or 8th row of pat.
