SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Photo (Take a photo of child on a plain background with feet together and arms out, or desired pose. Print at approximately 5" tall on photo cardstock)
- Scissors
- Colored Cardstock
- Colored Feathers
- Pipe Cleaners (Various colors)
- Hot Glue Gun (if working with younger kids, use Regular or Tacky glue)
- Pencil
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut around the child's photo, removing the background. This will be the body of the butterfly.
- Lay the photo on a piece of colored cardstock and draw butterfly wings on either side. Set the photo aside and cut out the butterfly shape.
- Glue feathers on each side of butterfly wings so that the ends meet in the middle.
- Glue the photo in the middle, covering the ends.
- Fold a pipe cleaner in half and curl the ends. Glue the middle behind the child's head on the back of the photo.
Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
- Hot glue makes for a quicker work time, but is better for older kids and adults. Small children can replace hot glue with tacky glue.
