- Simplicity® Pattern 8630
- 3 poster boards, 22"x 28"
- Blue Painters tape
- 1 1/2 yds elastic
- 3/4" wide braided black
- 2 1/4" flexible braided trim, 1" black
- One 2-pack Dritz® Parachute Buckles: 5/8” black
- Two packs Dritz Parachute Buckles: 1" black
- One 2-pack Dritz Adjustable Slide Buckles: 1”
- 7 1/2 yds 1/4" lacing: black
- Realeather, Maxi Punch Set: 4.8 mm-8 mm

- Three 24-packs aged brass Dritz decorative nails: 7/16"

- Two Sapphire

- 24"x 40" sheets muscle foam: three 3/8" thick sheets, two 1/8" thick sheets
- Four 3/8"x 2" rods
- 1/3 yd Pleather: gold
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter

DIRECTIONS:
- Cut all pattern parts out of poster board and label. The 6mm foam parts will be cut out of 3/8" foam. The 4mm foam parts (trim parts) will be cut out of 1/8" foam.
- Cut 3/8" thick foam with utility knife and the 1/8" thick foam with rotary cutter.
- Cut Pleather patches as needed.
- Optional: For Step 8 of Corset section and all other grommet application steps, use the grommet pliers to crimp the front and backs of the grommets together. The pattern indicates attaching the grommet fronts only with hot glue.
- Construct Corset and stop after Step 12.
- Construct Shoulder Guards and stop after Step 5.
- Construct Gauntlets.
- Construct Hand Guards and stop after Step 2.
- Construct Shin Guards.
- Construct Knee Guards and stop after Step 1.
- Construct Belt: Step 2 adjust the 1 1/2" width of the patch of Pleather to 1 3/4" wide, this will fill out the space between the trim strips and accommodate the two 3/8" grommets.
- Step 5 use the 3/8" rods for the chain links, stop after Step 6 (do not attach belt loops to the belt).
- Follow Painting and Finishing directions:
- Apply one coat of Mod Podge to all parts.
- Paint two coats of Sapphire to 3/8" thick foam parts then paint two coats of 24K Gold to all trim and edges.
- Mix 50/50 Black and Antique Bronze for dry-brush aging. Use chip brushes for the dry brush application.
- After paint has dried, add all elastic, braided trim straps, buckles and belt loops as per pattern directions.
- Use wire cutters to trim 1/4" off the points of the decorative nails.
- Test press one nail into a scrap of the 3/8" foam. Make sure that it does not extend out the back of the foam.
- Mark spots for the nails by making a small hole with the tip of a pencil.
- Apply E6000 to the backs of the tacks before pressing in to the foam.
JOANN Hacks:
- Currently Contact Cement is only available online.
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Two coats of the paint colors will give the most even finish. Try test samples on scraps.
- Alternate directions of the brush strokes of the two coats for a smoother finish. This will change the effect of the dry brush layer.

Incomplete instructions
Where's the rest of the instructions? You said you need a heat gun but yet no one strikes and on how and where to use it. Also are you supposed to just wear a flat cut out?
