SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Foamies Sheets, in Desired Colors
  • 1" Wood Beads
  • Paint, Red
  • Small Paintbrush
  • Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue Gun Sticks
  • String
  • Pattern Templates

DIRECTIONS:

To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.
  1. Using the small paintbrush and red paint, paint the wood beads red. Set them aside and allow them to dry.
  2. Use the pattern templates to cut out the bead pieces from the foamies sheets. Cut an equal number of short and long pieces.
  3. To make the beads, use the handle of the small paintbrush. Lay it flat at the wide end of the foamie piece. Begin to roll the foamie piece into a tube around the paintbrush handle, working all the way to the pointed end. Approx 1" from the end of the foamie piece, hot glue the inside of the piece and secure it to keep the bead's shape. Continue making beads of different sizes and colors.
  4. Cut a length of string to 6', or desired length. Knot one end for hanging.
  5. String the foamie beads, alternating sizes and colors. Add a red wood bead approximately every 5 foam beads.
  6. When the piece is strung, use the pattern templates to cut out holly leaves. Make 2 leaves for each red bead.
  7. Stick one pointed end of the holly leaf into the hole of the red bead on the garland and hot glue it to secure. Repeat for the other side of the bead. Do this to each red bead of the garland.
