SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3 1/2yds 54" wide Home dec fabric
  • 2yds of leather vinyl for straps or 4 yards of leather/vinyl trim
  • Fabri-Tac glue if making straps
  • 1pk 12'x 1"x 5yds of Nu Foam
  • 5lbs fiberfill
  • 50" velcro
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    1/2" seam allowance.
  1. Cut front and back 21"x 61".
  2. Cut two sides 8"x 61".
  3. Cut two more side strips 8"x 21".
  4. Leaving 1/2" open at the top and bottom of each seam, sew 8" seams to form a rectangle.
  5. RST, sew rectangle to top piece, matching seams to corners.
  6. Repeat for bottom except only sew 5" from each corner on one long side.
  7. Sew Velcro in this opening.
  8. Turn right side out.
  9. Cut four 20"x 60" pieces Nu Foam.
  10. Cut two pieces 19"x 6" pieces Nu Foam.
  11. Cut two pieces 58"x 6" pieces Nu Foam.
  12. Line headboard with Nu Foam, long strip at top, two pieces at front and back, one piece at each side.
  13. Stuff to desired firmness with fiberfill and place remaining Nu Foam strip at bottom.
  14. Velcro closed.
  15. For straps: cut two 5 1/2" X 72" strips vinyl.
  16. Fold both sides to center and glue with Fabri-Tac.
