SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • .187" x 36" Wood Dowel Rods or Found Sticks (2)
  • 90" 3mm Cotton Cording
  • Craft Paint or Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Satin Trim Cord or Yarn
  • Assorted Beads, Various colors & Types
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape
  • Covered Workspace/Drop Cloth
  • Optional: Mini Screw eye Pins (2)
  • Optional: Glue

DIRECTIONS:
  1. To make one oversized bubble wand, start by painting the dowel rods, allow to dry, and add a mini screw eye to one end of each dowel rod.
  2. Cut two pieces of cotton cording: the longer piece at 60" and 30" for the shorter cord.
  3. Next, thread each end of the 60" cord through each screw eye. Add the 30" cord by knotting it to the longer cord outside the screw eye.
  4. Wrap satin cord or yarn and add beads to decorate.

JOANN HACKS:
  • When you cut your cotton cording pieces, add a bead or metal washer to the longer length to eliminate tangled soapy cording.
  • When wrapping satin cord or yarn, add a thin amount of glue to areas you wrap to hold it more firmly in place. Tie tightly and let dry before adding beads.
  • If wood dowels are not available, use found sticks.
  • Tightly tie the cotton cording directly to the end of the dowel rods if mini screw eye pins are not readily available.
  • Purchase bubble mix or look online for a homemade recipe.
  • Try acrylic paint for more durability.
