DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cover work area with plastic table cover and have paper towels handy to protect against any possible spills.
  2. Prewash napkins, rinse and leave damp.
  3. Lay out damp napkins flat on your work surface, gather or fold fabric vertically and tie 4-5 rubber bands to split napkin into even sections.
  4. Wearing gloves, mix 1/2 cup of well-shaken Cherry Red All-Purpose Dye with 2 quarts of very hot water in container and stir well. In another container, mix 1/2 cup of Navy Blue All-Purpose dye with 2 quarts of very hot water.
  5. Fill two squeeze bottles with each color.
  6. Carefully squeeze the Cherry bottle around every other rubber band. Repeat with the Navy Blue bottle.
  7. Use Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative after dyeing and before washing to enhance the color, increase color retention and prevent dye from bleeding into white areas.  Follow instructions on package.
  8. Rinse in cool water until water runs clear.
  9. Cut away rubber bands and unfold napkins to reveal pattern.
  10. Hand wash in warm water with mild detergent, rinse and dry.
