SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 8 Strands of ivy greenery (two different kinds)
  • 5 Assorted artificial white roses (single ones and bushes)
  • 3 Yards of white tulle
  • 1 Bag quilting clips- medium size
  • White thread
  • Floral tape
  • Floral wire (paddle of wire)
  • Wire cutters
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Unfold the tulle and cut it in half lengthwise.
  2. With your sewing machine sew a 4" hem at the top of each panel.
  3. You are going to make two swags. Divide the amount of flowers into two equal groups.
  4. Cut the bushes of roses into single stems or in groups of two flowers.
  5. Wire two of the greenery garland together to make a long chain. Do that for each swag.
  6. Lay the greenery swags on the floor and place the flowers on top of the greenery swag where you would like them to be attached. Using wire or the floral tape, attach the flowers to the greenery swags, focusing on placing more of the flowers where they will appear in the photographs.
  7. Using the clips, attach the greenery swag to the tulle.
  8. Slide your tulle swag onto a suspended tension bar.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Place the flowers so they are cascading to the left and then the right as they go down the swag. This gives a more natural appearance.
  • When taping or wiring the florals onto the greenery, make sure to tape it tightly and wrap it a few times.
