Intermediate 3-5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
  • Measuring tape
  • Floral Wire
  • Tulle (length will depend on your desired look)
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutter
  • Florals/greenery stems
  • Rose petals

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Measure your head circumference where you want the crown to rest and use this as your guide.
  2. Take four long rose stems and trim off the excess greenery down the stem shaft. Bend the stem with a slight curve and wire them together staggering them to create the floral crown base. Use your own measurements to create the desired size.
  3. Once the base is wired and secured, fill in around the stems of the roses with other floral and greenery pieces. Secure them in place with floral wire and hot glue. Make sure to trim and bend away any wire pieces so they do not snag. Leave 3" of the crown unfinished, this will be the back where the veil is attached. Set aside the floral crown once you have it completed.
  4. To create the veil cut a piece of tulle the desired length and width. Attach the veil piece to the back of the floral crown in the spot you left bare. Gather the tulle in sections and hot glue to secure in place. When securing the tulle in place, leave 3" from the edge so you can bend and tuck the tulle around the wire. Glue the edge down in place.
  5. Cover the veil portion of the floral crown with more foliage and greenery to complete the floral on the crown.
  6. Attach petals to the tulle by gluing them randomly on the veil. To create a cascading affect, make the petals closer together at the top near the crown and space them out farther from each other as you work down the veil.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Remove any hot glue webs with a hair dryer on low.
  • Use a craft mat behind the tulle when gluing the petals onto the tulle to give you something to press against.
