INSTRUCTIONS:

    Bending the Conduit.

Lay your 4 x 8 plywood sheet flat on the floor.
Measure along the 8 ft side and put a pencil mark at 4 ft.
Using your impact driver and 2 in construction screw, drive a screw 1/2 in. deep at the 4 ft mark.  This will be your center point for determining the radius of your arch.
Tie your twine/string to the screw and measure out 3.5 ft along the base of the 4 x 8 plywood sheet.
At the 3.5 ft mark, tie your pencil to the twine/sting.
Keeping minimum tension on the twine/string, trace an arch from one end of the plywood sheet across all the way to the other side of the sheet leaving you with a half circle template on the plywood sheet.
Using your 2 in construction screws and impact driver, drive screws 1/2 in. every 2-3 inches on the template line on the plywood sheet.
Attach your (2) 1'  2 x 4 to the bottom left corner where your arch begins leaving a 1/2 in. space between the (2) 2 x 4.  This will serve as a leveraging stop block for bending the conduit.
Insert your 10' conduit into the stop blocks with about 2 inches hanging past the bottom of the plywood sheet.
Slowly begin to bend the conduit across the arch on your template apply leverage on each screw as you bend and mold the conduit into an arch.
    Repeat step 9 & 10 for your (2) exterior 7' arches.
Remove construction screws from plywood sheet.
Repeat steps 1-10 adjusting your distance from 3.5' to 1.5' for your interior arches.
Using your pipe cutter, cut off the excess conduit from your interior arches.
Using the 1/2 in. Set-Screw Coupler, attach your 5' conduit to to the base of each arch. These will serve as the legs of the arch.
You may need to hand bend or manipulate your arches so that they are more uniform with their counterpart.

    Box Frame Assembly.

    Using a Miter saw cut your 1 x 4 x 8' common lumber into the following cuts:   (6) 1 x 4 x 2'     (6) 1 x 4 x 1'
Using wood glue and a braid nailer,  assemble your cuts into (3) 4" H x 1' W  x 2' L rectangles. These boxes will serve as the base framing for your arch.

    Assembling the Arch.

Laying (2) of your box frames on the ground, attach the base of the arch to the interior of the box using 1/2 in. Conduit Straps and 3/4 in. wood screws. You will want the 2' side to be your front and the 1' side to be your sides.
Attached your 3rd box frame to the top center of the frame using 1/2 in. Conduit Straps and 3/4 in. wood screws.
Once your arch is framed and standing on its own, it is time to wrap the arch in chicken wire.  The wire will provide you with a grid to fashion your floral arrangements.
Using wire cutters, cut the chicken wire into 3' x 6' sections.
Wrap the chicken wire around the arch staring at the base of each side and working your way up each side to meet in the top center of the arch.
Secure the chicken wire using 4 in. Nylon Cable Ties.
Weave floral stems into the chicken wire. Use floral wire to attach them if weaving them isn't a strong enough hold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unnecessary instructions This is why I never do Jo-Ann's projects. The instructions are always too vague or ridiculous! Why wouldn't they tell you to just buy a cheap wedding arch and wrap it in chicken wire, using protective gloves? If you're worried about the arch falling over with the extra weight, attach two 6in metal L-shaped brackets to the back legs, via packing tape or zip ties. Put sandbags on top of each bracket and cover with fabric, tulle,or flowers. If you want a thicker arch, build up your chicken wire by adding rolled chicken wire strips with zip ties. Attach your greenery with more zip ties, then weave in flowers. There, you've saved hundreds of dollars and countless hours.
