Filler and Sand Art Terrariums

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Glass containers
  • Assorted bags of sand in natural colors
  • Bag white crush gravel
  • 1pk Bloom artificial art plants
  • 1pk small geodes
  • Wooden craft stick or toothpick
  • Wire cutters

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Find a clean flat surface to work.
  2. Pour a small amount of sand into the bottom of glass container.
  3. Pour a different color on the sides on glass container.
  4. Using the craft stick, push down on the sides of the sand to create patterns.
  5. Continue to layer the sand to create patterns on the sides of container.
  6. As you get near the top, decide where you want to insert air plants and geodes.
  7. Using your wire cutter, cut down stems of the air plants if needed.
  8. Insert plants into your sand art terrarium.

JOANN HACK:

  • You can use the geodes to create barriers or walls with the sand to change up the layers and patterns as you pour it into the container.
