SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Wooden Hanger
  • Kraft Paper or other paper large enough for traced hanger shape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Two 12”x12” Patterned Decorative Paper Sheets
  • Mod Podge
  • Application Brush

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Lay hanger on kraft paper and trace the shape of the wooden arms; cut out.

  2. Set pattern on hanger to double-check the size and shape; trim anywhere necessary.

  3. Fold in half to make a vertical crease down the center of the wooden arms; cut in half following the crease. You will only need one of the pattern halves.

  4. Determine which decorative paper will go on which side of the hanger; trace paper pattern onto decorative paper accordingly (that is, make sure to flip the paper pattern over to create the opposite side of the hanger arm.) Trace two on each decorative paper

  5. Cut out along the interior edge of your drawn line (so you do not see the drawn line.)

  6. Use a brush to apply Mod Podge to one side of the hanger. Rest the corresponding paper sheet down, making sure the edge that runs down the center of the hanger arm is indeed in the center and looks straight. Adjust the rest of the paper and press down. Apply more mod podge around the edges where the paper folds over, crease the fold of the paper with your fingernail, and press all around the sides so that the paper lays flat around the sides.

  7. Repeat for opposite arm, then repeat for back of the hanger.

  8. Seal paper with a final coat of Mod Podge and allow to dry.
