Super cool!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried out this Charcoal Sketch Set myself and I'm not the greatest artist, but I'm working on it. This is a nice starter set to try some items I have not used before. I like the dark colors and the ability to blend them together. This will be fun to learn!

Great... once sharpened
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My High School student loves these. She especially liked the kneaded eraser and blending stick. The black pastel stick (?) gives great coverage. He biggest complaint was that the pencils themselves needed a knife to sharpen. All in all I think it's a great kit for someone who's willing to put a bit of effort into sharpening the pencils, lol!! She does use it a lot so it's holding up to the test of time as well.

Great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The medium is fine, the white pastel is good, the stump is great, the eraser and vine charcoal I haven't opened yet. The soft charcoal will not sharpen, not with a sharpener than handles General charcoal fine, not with a knife, just crumbles away whenever more than a sliver is exposed.

Smooth and nicely blendable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter was not impressed with this item. The pencils break to easily and it did not come with a special sharpener for soft lead so they just continue to break while sharpening. The set could be better.

Quality Charcoal Sketch Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to draw and sketch in my spare time, to unwind, relax, and express my creativity. I enjoy using mixed mediums, but by far, charcoal is my absolute favorite.
This Charcoal Sketch Set by the well-trusted brand in art materials. Faber-Castell is the perfect choice!
I like the tactile "dirty" drawing with charcoal. I love how both soft, and hard charcoal is easy to blend and add realistic shading to any piece of artwork.
This SEVEN piece set includes two sticks of charcoal, a soft charcoal pencil, a medium charcoal pencil, a charcoal lifter, a charcoal lifter pencil, and a kneaded eraser. (I love kneaded erasers. They are tactical magic in the art world. Plus, it's fun to stretch and rejuvenate them! They are great stress relievers as well, when a piece isn't going in the right direction too.
These glide smoothly and have great pigmentation.
You can buy holders for the pieces of charcoal, but I prefer the dirty hands style.
You can easily sharpen the pencils with an art sharpening knife, and you can sharpen the charcoal sticks with sandpaper.
I was so excited to test these out, that I grabbed a piece of shiny cardboard, not recommended charcoal paper, and did a ten second test sketch of an owl planter in my kitchen. I recommend using a high quality paper designed for optimum charcoal use for premium shading and blending.
I think I'll actually use these to do a realistic drawing of an owl next!
Art is fun. It keeps the creativity and brain motivated, and is a major stressrelievers.
I love how these perform and highly recommend Faber-Castell 7 Piece Charcoal Sketch Set for any novice, hobbyist, or professional artist.
