SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Felt
- Embroidery Floss
- Embroidery Needle
- Scissors
- Paper
- Pen
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut two 3"x 3" squares from the felt.
- Cut one square in half on the diagonal to make a triangle.
- Trace the triangle onto the paper.
- Inside the triangle, draw the design to be transferred onto the felt.
- In this case, it was a monogram initial & several small flowers.
- Draw the design onto the felt.
- Split the embroidery floss & use three strands to embroider this design.
- Thread the needle.
- The following stitches were used here: stem, French knot, lazy daisy, straight & satin.
- Any stitches can be used to achieve the design.
- Embroider the design.
- Use one color for a monochromatic look or alternate colors if using a palette with several shades.
- When the triangle is done, place it on top of the square, aligning it with one of the corners.
- Using a blanket stitch, stitch through both felt layers on the edges that align.
- This will leave the diagonal edge of the triangle open to be slid over the corner of a page.
