DIRECTIONS:

  1. Sew the apron according to the pattern directions, using the denim fabric for the body and the printed fabric for the neck strap and ties. Skip attaching the pocket for now.
  2. Choose the desired pocket, cutting it out of the denim. Cut 1" of the fabric off the top of the pocket.
  3. Cut a strip of the patterned fabric 3" wide and the length of the top of the pocket piece.
  4. Lay the fabric along the top pocket edge, right sides together, and sew. Iron flat when finished.
  5. Fold the top of the patterned fabric (top pocket edge) under 1/4", iron, then fold 1/4" under again and iron flat. Top stitch along this edge.
  6. Use the water soluble marker to draw desired design onto the pocket. Embroider along these lines with a running stitch.
  7. Attach the pocket to the apron following the pattern directions.
  8. Again, use the water soluble marker to draw any lines or design onto the apron body. Use the project images as inspiration.
  9. Embroider along the lines with a running stitch.
