SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1yd. Yellow Fleece (or amount needed for size of dog)
- 1/2yd Black Felt
- Simplicity 8824
- 1 pkg. Double Fold Yellow Binding
- 1 pkg. 3/4" Velcro
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- 2 Sheets White Felt, 12"x 18"
- Black Fabric Puffy Paint
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Wing Pattern Templates: To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab.
- Optional: Glue
DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- Cut out pattern view E from pattern in desired size.
- Omit collar and pocket.
- Following pattern directions, sew the shoulder seams.
- Sew the binding around top neck edge and around armholes only.
- Using the curve of the bottom of pattern, cut strips 2" wide from the black felt and the width of the costume.
- Sew or glue the strips onto costume.
- Sew the velcro strips to the two back openings of costume following pattern directions.
- To make the wings, cut the felt pieces using the pattern templates. Cut 2 large wings and 2 small wings.
- Trace the wing pattern lightly onto one of the large and one of the small felt pieces. Trace the lines with black puffy paint. Mirror the design for the second two wings, and trace the design with the black puffy paint.
- Allow to dry.
- Sew the wings onto the bee costume.
