Highly Detailed, Quality Paint, Outcome exactly as shown
Dimensions PaintWorks kits contain quality paint, are highly detailed and the end result is always exactly as shown. These kits are intermediate level and do require you to take your time. On the back of the box there is instructions on blending and adding fine details to the final work. The areas that they suggest to blend are indicated on the art board and instructions by dash lines instead of solid lines. They color white areas (which is typically #1 are left blank on the art board but the number is on the instruction sheet. This is to avoid the number showing through the white paint in the end painting. The paint pots are large and very easy to open (for those with arthritis this is important).
Of all the brands currently out there, Dimensions PaintWorks is by far the most detailed, uses the most colors and encourages you not be afraid to mix colors, practice blending, and add fine details.
You will need the following:
1. A set of detail brushes (which you can purchase from Joanns) as the spaces can be quite tiny, which is what gives the kit its realistic look.
2. Empty paint pots (the small 3ml or .1 oz size size is plenty large enough, which can also be purcased from Joanns), There are 39 colors (21 of which you mix from the provided colors). The paint pots are quite large and I have never run out of paint. However, I find it's best to paint all the unmixed colors first to insure that you won't use up so much with the mixed colors that you run out (I gauge how much of a mixed color I will need before I mix it, so as to not waste as much paint).

Missed the paint by numbers on the boards!
I've been looking for these older kits for a while! I feel like the pictures come out better on the boards vs the canvases. I did forget that you have to mix some of the paints but otherwise it's great!
