SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Aleene's Original Tacky Glue
- Faux pumpkins in assorted sizes
- Glitter in desired color & size
- Paintbrush
- Disposable surface cover
DIRECTIONS:
- Make sure your pumpkins are clean and free of any dust before getting started. Cover your work surface with a protective plastic table cover since you'll be working with glitter and glue.
- For a solid coverage glitter pumpkin, squeeze some Tacky Glue onto the pumpkin and use a paintbrush to smooth the glue evenly over the pumpkin, making sure all areas are covered.
- While glue is still wet, pour glitter over entire pumpkin and shake off excess. Let dry.
- To create a word like "Fall" on your pumpkin, squeeze the glue directly from the bottle onto the pumpkin. If you do mess up, Tacky Glue wipes away easily with a damp cloth and you can start over.
- While the glue is still wet, sprinkle glitter over the top until all of the glue is covered. Shake off excess glitter and let dry.
- You can also add glue to the pumpkin stem and cover with glitter for extra sparkly effects.
- For an ombre glitter pumpkin, squeeze some Tacky Glue out onto the top half (or bottom if you prefer) of the pumpkin.
- Use a paintbrush to smooth out the glue evenly, brushing downward towards the center of pumpkin.
- While the glue is still wet, sprinkle glitter over it, tapping off excess glitter. Let dry completely.
JOANN HACKS:
- Shaking off excess glitter over something like a piece of scratch paper makes it easy to gather & pour back into your container.
- You can first use a pencil to write out your word then tracing with glue if you aren't comfortable winging it.
