Great Value
I make acoustic (sound absorbing) panels and have used this and other products extensively. This stuff has gotten a few negative reviews so I wanted to provide some insight on my experience.
Happy Value (this product):
- closer to black in color
- rougher feel
- slightly thinner (easier for straight cuts)
- cheaper!
"Premium Felt":
- more of a blueish tint
- softer to the touch
- about twice as thick as happy value
First picture is a side by side comparison; happy value on the left, premium on the right. The other pictures are finished products using happy value. Really hard to tell the differences in texture/color from far away.
I'll definitely stick with this product since it's half the price of the premium felt.

Not a big fan of this new felt brand
I use a lot of felt in my small business and this new brand is thinner and a different texture than the brand before. I also miss the variety of colors. Bring back the Kunin felt!

Nice Felt
Nice Felt when it is available. Even the picture on the listing shows orange felt, but has not been in stock for almost 2 years now. If the manufacturer can make the felt squares of orange, then the yardage should also be available. I am a crafter and sell my items. I use A LOT of felt. I buy felt by the bolt.

Black felt had changed
My hubby is a taxidermist and has used the black felt for years on bear rugs. We purchase several bolts at a time. The last material we received (Jan 2024) is much thinner than what we have received in the past. The quality of the product is not the same.

Don’t know about the fabric but the store is horrble
Made on order online for pickup. Got an email that it is ready and the store is open until 8pm. Drove all the way to the store, and guess what, store is closed, no one to talk to, customer support may bother getting back to me sometime next year.

Missing items
I ordered several items on Nov 27. Only two items have arrived . I’ve checked on the order and it says”processing” . I’ve contacted customer service four days ago and haven’t heard back. I’m very disappointed and will not be ordering from Joann again.

fabric shipped in two separate orders - still waiting for one piece
I bought 2 yards of felt. I assumed it would be one long piece. For unknown reasons, the felt is being shipped in two separate pieces and in two separate packages. The second piece has not yet arrived. I would not order fabric online again because of not knowing if it would come as one piece or split up.
