Cotton Mini Gift Drawstring Bags

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Fabric
• Cord or ribbon for drawstring
• Thread

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut 2 pieces 8 1/2"x 6" of each color, one for the main fabric and one for the lining.
2. Cut 2 pieces 6"x 2 1/2" for the top band.
3. Cut 2 pieces of cord 18" long for the drawstring. All seams are 1/4".
4. Sew the main pieces together right sides together on one short end and iron.
5. Repeat for the lining.
6. On the short ends of the bands press under 1/4 " and turn under another 1/4 " and stitch.
7. Press bands in half wrong sides together.
8. To attach the bands to the top, center the raw edge of the band to the right side of the main fabric and baste.
9. Repeat for the other end.
10. Place the lining on top of the main fabric and band with right sides together and stitch across basted ends only.
11. Turn and press. Sew the remaining sides right sides together to form the bag.
12. Turn and press.
13. Feed the drawstring through the casing on both sides so you come out where you started and form a knot.
14. For the second drawstring, start on the opposite side and repeat.
