- 1 Bottle of Pink Fabric Dye
- 1 Piece of Poster Board
- 1 Piece of Red Felt 3"x 36"
- Pink Spray Paint
- Hot Glue Gun/Glue Gun Sticks
- 1 Can of Pink Spray Paint
- 1 Bag of Foam and Fiber Fill
- 1 Sheet of Pink Felt
- 1 Sailor Hat
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut the rim off the sailor hat. And set aside.
- Take the poster board and roll it in the shape of a cone. Make sure it fits the head of the child.
- Using the glue gun, glue the outside edge of the rolled posterboard to hold the cone shape.
- Take the piece of red felt and starting at the bottom of the cone and attach the strip to the cone at the base and go up the cone in a swirled pattern. Glue the end in place at the top of the cone.
- Insert the cut off sailor hat and hot glue in place. This is to fit the child's head.
- In a well-ventilated area, lay the fiber foam on a scrap piece of cardboard or plastic bag and spread it out thinly. Spray paint it with the pink spray pink. Let it dry.
- Attach the fiber foam around the base of the cone with hot glue. Place Fiber foam on the inside of the cone/sailor hat to make the cone fit well. Trim the edges with scissors.
- Dye the adult T-shirt with the pink dye. Follow the instructions on the dye packaging. Let it dry.
- Use your scissors and cut off the sleeves of the T-shirt.
- Take the pink spray-painted foam and attach it to the T-shirt using the glue gun and glue sticks.
- You apply the glue to the T-shirt and then lay the fiber foam onto top of the hot glue and lightly press it in place. Do this on all sides of the T-shirt to completely cover the shirt. Trim the bottom edges with your scissors to get a clean look.
JOANN HACKS:
- Overlap the fiber foam as you glue it in place so that you don't have gaps that show the T-shirt underneath.
