- 1/2yd fleece print
- 1/2" elastic, 12"
- 1 skein yarn
- Matching thread
- Basic sewing supplies
- Pattern
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut 4 of hat pattern.
- With RST, stitch back seam of hat and lining with a 1/2" seam; leaving an opening in back of lining for turning.
- Clip curves.
- With RST, sew hat to lining along straight front with 1/2" seam.
- Sew neck edge with 1/4" seam; leaving an opening for elastic 5/8" from front seam.
- Turn RS out through back seam opening.
- Cut 2 pieces cross-wise of fabric 1 1/2" x 12" for ties.
- With RST, sew long edge of each tie with a 1/4" seam using a stretch stitch or stretching fabric as you sew.
- Turn each tie RS out.
- Stitch 5/8" from neck edge for elastic casing.
- Stitch one end of elastic to top edge of tie. (see photo)
- Thread elastic through casing and pull tie up through opening into casing. (see photo)
- Stitch opening closed.
- Pull elastic out through other side and stitch tie to end.
- Pull elastic and tie up into casing and stitch closed.
- Edge stitch front edge of hat.
- Use yarn to make a pom-pom and attach to hat.

Child's Hat pattern
When printing the pattern, you must save it first to your computers documents or desktop, then when you print it, the size will be correct. If you print directly from the website, it will be doll size.

childs fleece hat
I printed this pattern and unless I am doing something wrong it looks more like a doll size because it would not even fit a newborn. Any advice
