Great starter machine
Great starter machine, not very expensive, has a wide variety of stitches and presser feet, including the walking foot. I really liked the thread assisting device, BUT it didn't last long. The filament used to thread the needle is so thin and very delicate and it quit working to thread the needle. It was hard to thread the needle without assistance, so that became a major frustration and I bought a different brand of machine that has an air threader.
Other than the threader not working very long, this is a great machine to learn on. After I got my new machine (different brand) I realized that the Brother is not as smooth as the new one. I realized that the feed dogs were a little uneven and was creating wobbly stitches unless I was diligent about guiding the fabric. As a side note, this could have just been me since I am a beginner sewist....lol.
I do like the machine. At this price point I feel comfortable taking it to quilt classes or letting someone borrow the machine. This machine is more than just a basic machine with lots of possibilities and a wide variety of uses.
The other major frustration I have with the machine is the throat space. I want to make quilts and wall hangings and the narrow space to work with was very frustrating. I did not realize that it would make that much difference but it does.

Good machine!
I quite like all the features and also the warnings if you’re doing something wrong. Haven’t had any issues yet, but little things seem easy to problem solve through use of manual and online resources :)

Easy to set up and a good straight stitch. I purchased for free motion quilting, so the small table is perfect.

Highly Recommend This Machine.
This is a great machine for my use. It takes a little bit to get use to the 'computerized' way of sewing. That being said - - I Really like I can use the foot pedal, or just press the sew button on the machine. Still trying to get the Auto Needle thread option to work, but that is my issue. I sew a lot of polar fleece throws for family/friends and for gift baskets for raffles. My way of giving back to so many. My former machine is over 50 years old and very heavy. This one feels well made and is light weight. Would Highly recommend this machine.
