SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 roll of thin gray carpet
  • 3 canvases 24"x 36"
  • Staple gun
  • Scissors
  • Tube of Quick Grip Glue

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Decide the pattern for each canvas and lay the canvas face down on the carpet piece.
  2. Cut a piece of carpet for each canvas 3" bigger than the canvas. Starting in the middle of each canvas on the side.
  3. Wrap the side to the back of the canvas and place the first staple in the middle of the back of the canvas on the edge. Flip it over and apply Quick Grip Glue in random dots onto the front of the canvas and then press the carpet firmly onto the canvas. Go around the canvas and staple from the center back working your way to the outside corners on the backside. Work on each side at the same time rotating the canvas as you go.
  4. When you get to the corners, cut the carpet to make a mitered corner.
  5. Glue the fabric and then fold over and staple down.

JOANN HACKS:

  • If any of the white canvas is showing at the mitered corners, paint that area with gray paint or a gray sharpie marker.
