Advanced Weekend Project
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Assorted cardstock in colors of your choice (for bigger flowers you will need 3 sheets per flower)
  • Assorted crepe papers including greens
  • 2 floral wire packets (green & brown), not wire on a spool
  • Floral tape
  • Cricut machine
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
  • Zig two-way glue pen
  • 2 rolls of ribbon for the bow
  • Small pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • IMAGES USED FROM DESIGN SPACE:

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Make your flowers using your Cricut machine and Design Space.
  2. You can research the images to find the flower and leaf patterns that you want to make.
  3. Download the images and save your project.
  4. Cut out the pieces needed for each flower.
  5. Start assembling the flower from the middle, curling, bending and gluing as you build the flower. You will finish each flower when you reach the outside petals as you are gluing it together.
  6. Take a piece of green wire and with small pliers bend a flat head at one end for gluing the flower base to the wire.
  7. Hot glue the flower head to the stem and hold it while it dries in place.
  8. Cut out green leaves from Design Space images as well.
  9. Attach the leaves to the side of the stem with either the Zig two-way glue or the hot glue gun.
  10. Cut out a green base to wrap around the base of the flower where it joins to the wire for coverage. Glue in place.
  11. Once you have made assorted flowers you are ready to make the bouquet.
  12. Start with the greenery pieces as a backdrop to build the other colors flowers around it. Hold the bouquet in your left hand while you build it adding each additional flower. As you are building, mix up the sizes and colors in the placement.
  13. After you have completed the bunch in your hand, keep holding while you take the floral tape in the right and wrap the bouquet right around where you are holding it together. Wrap it tightly in 4-5 layers.
  14. Take another wire and set aside. Using both ribbons, make a big floppy bow. Tie the ribbon tightly with the wire.
  15. Attach the wire to the bouquet at the base of the bunch of flowers.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Make the flowers at different heights in the bouquet to make it more interesting.
  • After the bouquet is completed, you can still bend the flowers in a natural way.
  • Pull the stems apart a bit to "open up" the bouquet.
